​Race Refund/Withdrawal Policy

Entry fees are non-refundable. 
Bib transfers are not permitted.
Life happens; we know.  If you cannot attend the race, inform us by 9 April and you can defer your registration to a future Tooele Trail Racing event.
Tooele County is home to the Serengeti/Oquirrh Wave trail system, situated at the feet of the Oquirrh Mountains. These courses will appeal to the beginner and experienced trail runner alike.  You will traverse semi-technical atv trails; take in sweeping views of the Tooele Valley, Great Salt Lake, and distant Stansbury Mountain Range; and enjoy the beauty and solitude of getting off the asphalt and onto the dirt.

Course Description

The 50k course will consist of two 25k loops - the first loop will be run in conterclockwise direction, with the second loop being run in clockwise direction.

Runners will start out, heading south, into the Serengeti Trail System; at mile 4 they will head east/northeast; at mile 5.15, they'll head northwest/north on a fun, rolling powerline road. At mile 8.6, runners will turn east and ascend the beautiful, wooded BBC trail. At mile 9.4, runners will run the bench road, trending north, where, at mile 10.1, they will pass through a green pedestrian gate and begin their eastward ascent of the Pole Canyon double-track. At mile 11.1, just after reaching the highpoint of the course (5,735'), runners will briefly turn northeast, then hairpin turn to the northwest, for an exhiliarating 1-mile descent down the wooded Pole Canyon trail. At mile 12.1, runners will pass through another green pedestrian gate; at this point, be sure to follow the directional sign and turn south/southwest. At mile 12.35, runners will follow a dirt road heading due west; after half a mile, runners will turn south, passing through a gate, then immediately turn west, getting onto the lower Sidewinder single-track trail. 2 miles later, runners will drop onto a dirt road, taking them south/southwest to the Start/Finish Area.

To finish up, runners will repeat this loop, in clockwise direction.

Total Vert - 4,500 ft

Dirt Road/ATV Trail - 69%
Single-Track - 25%
Double-Track - 6%

Hard Cutoffs are as follows:
Mile 15.55 - 4.5 hours (11:30 am)
Mile 31.1 - 9 hours (4:00 pm)

Drop Bag

Runners may keep a drop bag at the Start/Finish Area (or in their vehicle) to use after completing first loop.
Tooele Trail Racing will not be responsibile for any lost or damaged items associated with runners' drop bags.

Crews & Pacers

Runners may have Crew to assist them at the Start/Finish Area (or in the Bates Canyon Trailhead parking lot).

​Runners may not have a pacer at any point.  It's just a 50k - you got this!

Course Description

Runners will start out climbing northeast along the dirt road; at mile 0.6, runners will begin climbing the "Puke Ravine" single-track trail; at mile 1.2, runners will join and eastbound dirt road; at mile 1.3, be sure to pass throug the green pedestrian gate, for your double-track climb up toward the mouth of Pole Canyon; at mile 2.4, runners will turn north for 50 yards, then head northwest, descending the beautiful, wooded lower Pole Canyon trail; at mile 3.4, pass through another green pedestrian gate, then take the road to the southwest; after heading south for 1.5 miles, runners will turn off the road and descend west, down the BBC single-track trail; at mile 5.7, you will have reached the BBC Aid Station; runners will turn south onto the dirt road, after 100 yards, they will turn west/northwest, for their final 0.5 mile descent to the Finish Line.

Total Mileage: 6.45 miles
Total Vert: ~1,250 ft.

Single-Track: 38%
Double-Track: 17%

Rules and Guidelines
​

All distances will be marked with RED course markings.
Directional Signs will be placed at key junctions.

If you happen to go off-course, you must return to the point at which you left the course, before continuing on.  If you don't course-correct, you will be DQ'ed.

It is the responsibility of the runner to check in at the aid station.  Seek out an aid station worker and tell them your bib number.  Failure to check in at an aid station may result in disqualification.  If you drop out of the race, you must turn in your bib to an aid station worker.

You are encouraged to carry a hydration pack, hydration belt, or hand-held.

Pack out what you pack in, or throw it in a garbage can at the aid station.  If you are seen purposefully dropping trash on the trail you may be disqualified.

No animals allowed on the course or at the Start/Finish Area.
